Apple Cinnamon Baklava


For the Baklava:

2 cups walnuts
1 cup pecans
⅓ cup packed brown sugar
1½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 large apple, peeled and chopped into ¼ inch cubes
1 roll frozen phyllo dough, thawed
1½ sticks butter melted

For the syrup:

1 cup sugar
⅓ cup honey
1 cinnamon stick
½ cup apple cider
Dash ground ginger
Dash ground cloves
Dash ground nutmeg
