for the Chocolate Chip Cookies:

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon Kosher salt
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar, lightly packed
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups good quality semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips

for the Brownies*:

1 Box Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Brownie Mix
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup vegetable or canola oil
1 egg
