Beer Battered Artichoke Hearts



Oil, for frying
1 cup flour
1 cup beer
Salt and pepper
2 14oz cans of whole artichoke hearts packed in water (about 6-10 count), drained very well and patted dry

For the dipping sauce:
1 cup mayonnaise
Squeeze of lemon juice from half of a lemon
2 Tbsp chives, chopped
