FOR THE TERIYAKI GLAZE:
½ cup soy sauce
½ cup sugar
¼ cup water
2 T. mirin
2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger (from one 6-inch piece, peeled)
1 clove garlic, minced
1/8 tsp. red pepper flakes
2 tsp. corn starch
1 T. honey

FOR THE HIBACHI STEAK:
2 ½ pounds hanger, skirt, or flank steak
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Sliced scallions, for serving
Toasted sesame seeds, for serving

FOR THE GRILLED WASABI POTATOES:
24 baby potatoes (about 2 pounds), scrubbed
1 T. sesame oil
1 to 2 tsp. Wasabi paste
1 tsp. salt
